Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery is a profoundly personal decision and our team of dedicated plastic surgeons understand that it’s important to look and feel your best. Through individualized attention and outstanding care, we help each patient regain the self-confidence they have been missing.
Cosmetic surgery consists of surgical and non-surgical procedures that are completed to enhance structures of the body. Patients may choose cosmetic surgery to improve their appearance, enhance confidence, or build self-esteem. Whether it is subtle changes that heighten natural beauty or more extensive alterations to showcase a dramatic transformation, our physicians are there every step of the way.
Some of the common cosmetic procedures are breast augmentation, dermal fillers, liposuction, and tummy tuck. These procedures are elective and often not covered by insurance.
Reconstructive Surgery
Everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own body; however, this is not always the case and reconstructive surgery may be the answer. Reconstructive surgery treats structural parts of the body to restore functionality and correct deformities. This may be a result of birth defects, trauma, developmental abnormalities, or medical conditions including infections, tumors, or disease. Although the thought of reconstructive surgery can be overwhelming, our expert plastic and reconstructive surgeons will walk you through your individualized treatment plan to help you achieve the functionality and appearance that you desire.
Some of the common reconstructive procedures are breast reconstruction, scar revision, breast reduction, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and skin cancer reconstruction with skin grafts or flaps. Reconstructive surgery is typically covered by most health insurance plans; however, specific procedures and level of coverage may vary.

Body Contouring
It’s always nice achieving those weight-loss goals! Unfortunately, substantial weight loss can affect the elasticity of your skin which leaves you with sagging skin and fat. That is where body contouring comes in.
This type of surgery removes excess skin and improves the shape of the underlying support tissue to help you look better and give you smoother contours.
Some examples of Body Contouring procedures are:
- Facelift: to improve sagging mid-face, jowls, and neck
- Breast lift: to improve saggy, flattened breasts
- Tummy tuck: to remove excess skin hanging over the abdomen
- Arm lift: to improve saggy upper arms
Botox
Say good riddance to facial lines and wrinkles! Botox is a purified substance derived from bacteria. It blocks nerve signals to your specific muscles, keeping them from contracting. The end result is diminished wrinkles! These injections help smooth:
- Frown lines
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead furrows
Breast Procedures
If you’re in pain or just unhappy with your breasts, we have several options that can help. Your surgeon can help you decide on which procedure is best for you.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, or “implants” will increase the size of your breasts or restore breast volume. This is typically done after weight loss or post-pregnancy. Breast augmentation can help increase natural breast size, improve asymmetry, and give you a more rounded breast. At Avita, this can be done using silicone or saline implants.
Breast augmentation can:
- Increase fullness and projection
- Improve the balance of your figure
- Improve your self-confidence and self-image
Breast Lift
Breast augmentation may not completely correct severely drooping breast tissue. A breast lift, or mastopexy may be needed if you want a fuller and more lifted look. Breast lifting and augmentation can be done at the same time or during two different procedures. Our plastic surgeons can help you make that decision.
Your breasts will change over time. You could lose your youthful shape and firmness. This could be the result of several factors, including:
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Weight Fluctuations
- Aging
- Gravity
- Genetics
With breast lift surgery, you won’t see a significant change in breast size, but it can give you a more youthful and uplifted look.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is done to restore one or both breasts following mastectomy, lumpectomy, or other trauma. Often, breast reconstruction is done in stages involving several procedures.
Two categories that breast reconstruction generally falls in are implant-based reconstruction or flap reconstruction. Implant reconstruction uses breast implants to create a new breast mound. Flap reconstruction creates a new breast mound by using tissue from another part of the body. When choosing which option is best, there are several factors to consider:
- Your body type
- Cancer treatments
- Type of mastectomy
If you only need one breast reconstructed, breast reduction or augmentation surgery on the other breast can improve symmetry, size, and position of both breasts. Breast reconstruction may be fully or partially covered by your health insurance plan.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction, or reduction mammaplasty, removes your excess breast fat, glandular tissue, and skin. This can help make your breast size proportionate to your body and alleviate discomfort from overly large breasts, which can cause back and neck pain. This procedure may be covered by insurance.
Brow Lift
If you’re bothered by the sagginess of your brows or the wrinkles along your forehead, then a brow lift is for you! A brow lift, or forehead lift, can:
- Reduce horizontal wrinkles on the forehead and on the bridge of the nose
- Improve frown lines
- Raise sagging eyebrows
- Help eyebrows look alert and youthful in position
Brow lifts can be done in conjunction with upper or lower eyelid surgery, face lifting, and skin resurfacing procedures.
Chemical Peel
When it comes to improving the appearance of your skin, a chemical peel is one of the least invasive procedures you can choose. A chemical peel smoothes the texture of your skin by using a chemical solution to remove damaged outer layers. This procedure is most commonly done on the face but can also be used on the skin of your neck and hands.
Several things can affect the way your skin looks and feels. Chemical peels will help improve:
- Age and Liver spots
- Rough skin and scaly patches
- Acne and acne scars
- Irregular skin pigmentation
- Scars
- Sun damage
- Fine lines and wrinkles
Unfortunately, a chemical peel can’t treat everything. For example, it cannot:
- Treat deep facial lines
- Change pore sizes
- Remove deep scars and broken capillaries
- Tighten loose or sagging skin
Ear Surgery
There’s no need to feel self-conscious about your ears! Ear surgery, or otoplasty, helps to improve the shape, position, and/or proportion of your ears. This can be done to ears that have defects in structure or become misshapen due to injury. Ear surgery can treat:
- Overly large ears
- Protruding ears
- Dissatisfaction with your ears
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelids can get droopy and in some cases can even affect your vision! Eyelid Surgery, or blepharoplasty, improves the appearance of your eyelids and rejuvenates the area surrounding your eyes. This procedure can be done on upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. This may be covered by your insurance.
Your surgeon will remove and tighten excess skin which can result in better appearance and vision. Eyelid surgery can help fix:
- Loose or sagging skin, creating folds or disturbing natural contours
- Bags under the eyes
- Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower lid
- Fatty deposits
- Drooping lower lids
Facelift
Visible signs of aging in the face and neck isn’t something you have to live with. Facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy, can help reduce these signs without altering your fundamental appearance. This restorative procedure can help improve:
- Relaxed and sagging skin of the face
- Deepening fold lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth
- Fat that has fallen or disappeared
- Jowls
- Loose skin and excess fat of the neck such as double chin or turkey neck
Facelifts can be performed alongside brow and eyelid lifts.
Kybella
Kybella is the first and only injectable approved by the FDA that contours and improves “double chin.” There is little to no down-time in using Kybella since it is a non-surgical option.
Kybella works by breaking down and absorbing fat in the chin area. This helps the injection destroy fat cells for good.
Each treatment plan is individualized so the number of treatments varies. Each injection only takes about 15-20 minutes, with at least a month between injections. Some patients will see results in as little as 1 treatment.
Liposuction
Excess fatty deposits can really hurt our self-esteem and body image. Liposuction improves body proportions and contours by removing those localized excess fat deposits. The result is a slim and reshaped body!
While liposuction can reduce fat and make you slimmer, it is not a treatment for obesity or cellulite. It is also not a substitute for proper diet and exercise.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a dermal filler that reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines. This substance is naturally found in the human body. When injected, it supports facial structures and tissues to inflate wrinkles.
Some brand names of hyaluronic acid are Restylane and Juvederm.
Rhinoplasty
If you need corrections or you are unhappy with the look of your nose, then a rhinoplasty, also called a nose job, could be the answer. Rhinoplasty is plastic surgery to enhance your nose. This can fix things like:
- Nose size
- Nose width at the bridge
- Size and position of the nostrils
- Profile
- Nasal symmetry
- A nasal tip that is bulbous, droopy, hooked, or upturned
- Structural defects
The goal of rhinoplasty is to create facial balance and correct proportion.
Scar Revision
Our surgeons can help you diminish or resolve your unwanted scar tissue. Scar revision surgery helps minimize and blend a scar into the surrounding skin tone and texture, making it less noticeable. Scars vary in development, shape, texture, and coloration. There are multiple treatment options depending on the type and degree of scarring. These include:
- Minimally invasive procedures
- Topical treatments
- Surgical revision using advanced techniques in wound closure.
Unfortunately, a scar cannot be erased but these procedures will help hide a scar for a more pleasing appearance.
Skin Cancer Removal
Our board-certified plastic surgeons skillfully and surgically remove cancerous and other skin lesions to help minimize damage to your health and appearance. No surgery comes without scars but your plastic surgeon will do everything they can to prevent significant changes to your appearance.
Tummy Tuck
Tummy tuck surgery, technically called abdominoplasty, can help you get that flat, toned appearing abdomen you are looking for. This procedure removes excess fat and skin around the abdomen and can restore separated muscles. There are several reasons why your abdomen may protrude or droop. The most common are:
- Aging
- Pregnancy
- Prior surgery
- Genetics
- Significant fluctuations in weight
In addition to removing excess fat and skin, a tummy tuck can help remove stretch marks if they are located under the belly button. Your plastic surgeon will provide guidance on surgery combinations to determine what will work best for your body and overall health.
