Heart of Avita Ball
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S and in our community (AHA). In addition, an aging, more diverse population, along with a significant increase in heart disease and stroke risk factors among younger people are expected to nearly triple the nation’s price tag on cardiovascular disease (CVD) by 2050, according to new published projections from the American Heart Association.
On Friday, February 20, the 2026 Heart of Avita Ball brought together community leaders, volunteers and survivors working to change that statistic. Heart Ball Event Chair, Nick Cline, Avita’s EMS Coordinator and winner of the Ohio Hospital Associations 2025 Albert E. Dyckes Healthcare Worker of the Year Award for his extraordinary work in helping to advance Avita’s Cardiology Program, greeted nearly 250 guests and introduced some of the most heartwarming testimonials. The gala event showcased how prevention, cardiac rehab, education & training, and the knowledge to make an impact can change heart health outcomes in the region Avita serves. The more than $150,000 raised will help support the lifesaving work of Avita Heart, which has been advancing heart health and hope for all patients and families.
